Detroit Temperature Engineers, Inc. is a Mechanical Contractor, located in Livonia, Michigan (a large suburb of Detroit) specializing in the areas of Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Design, Installation, Renovation, Preventive Maintenance and Emergency Service Repair. The Company started in 1947 in the City of Detroit, performing residential and Commercial Heating and Air Conditioning Systems Installation and Service; and as the opportunity and necessity arose, branched off into larger Commercial Systems Applications, including Boiler Installations, Process Piping, Plumbing, and a multitude of other Commercial and Industrial Mechanical endeavors. As the Company motto goes: 'There are no small jobs Some are just bigger than Others.'
In 1971, the Company was forced to move out of their rather 'cramped' facility in Detroit and transferred its operations to a much larger, new 20,000 sq.ft. facility in a light industrial park in Livonia, Michigan. The Company concentrates on 'Design/Build' mechanical installation, wherein the complete responsibility for a building's indoor comfort system (including load calculations, design and lay-out, distribution systems routing and sizing, equipment application, selection and installation, controls systems, start-up and warranty) rests with them. The tougher the project the better!
In between major Design/Build projects, the Company participates 'selectively' in the local Plans and Specifications market of HVAC Construction - wherein the sole responsibility of the Contractor is an accurate interpretation of the project documents, Installation (as designed and per all local and International Codes), Start-up and One Year Warranty Service. (Note: Generally, DTE warrants their Design/Build Installations for a period of Two(2) Years from date of completion).
Complementing their Construction activities, the Company operates a Full-Time Service and Mini-Projects Division - with their efforts directed solely at Commercial, Educational, Institutional and Light Industrial Service, Repair, Maintenance and Equipment Replacement and Retrofit.
